Therapeutic and Targeted Tension Release Massage

Therapeutic massage uses light to medium pressure, along with techniques like myofascial release and assisted stretching, to work toward real therapeutic goals — without the intensity of deep tissue work. Only light trigger point work is included in this session. It’s a great fit for clients who want the benefits of therapeutic bodywork — easing tightness, improving range of motion, and helping your body move and feel the way it’s supposed to — but don’t enjoy or don’t need deep, heavy pressure.

Targeted tension release massage zeroes in on specific “knots,” or hyperirritable spots within a muscle, that can cause localized pain, stiffness, and even referred pain elsewhere in the body — a tight spot in the shoulder, for example, can contribute to tension headaches. Using sustained, targeted pressure on these points, we work to release the tension, improve circulation to the area, and calm the nervous system’s pain response. This session is ideal when you have a specific problem area you want addressed directly.

Therapeutic Massage and Targeted Tension Release Massage are two separate types of massage, each with its own pressure level and therapeutic goal — choose whichever fits what your body needs. Every session — whichever you choose — is customized in real time based on your problem areas, pressure preference, and goals. Aromatherapy is included with every session to help you unwind.
